The food was brilliant and reminded me of a true Italian plate of pasta! The woman who served us was so polite and kind to us, letting us know if there was anything else we needed and always checked in on us. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, but just as fun and relaxing too! We greatly enjoyed our time here and I highly recommend this restaurant!
We were travelling through Cochrane and came across this lovely Italian Kitchen with an attached specialty coffee shop. The service from Bestin Joseph was fantastic, and his recommendations of the Chicken Marsala and “Catch of the Day” Hallibut were both perfect. Finished off with a Cappuccino, and went on our way having had a great dining experience. Will stop again when we are back this way. Thank you!
We found a parking spot right out front at 11:30 a.m., and although the restaurant area doesn't open until noon, we were invited in, and the exceptional service, by June, began. I ordered the Tuscan Fettuccine, which arrived steaming hot. The serving size was large, so I am thrilled to have enough leftover for a full supper this evening. The rose sauce, with zucchini and sun-dried tomatoes, was rich and delicious beyond words. We ordered extra toasted focaccia with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, which was perfect for capturing the sauce at the bottom of the bowl. Not a drop was wasted. June recommended two desserts, tiramisu and creme caramel, and they were both creamy, light, and delicious. I am looking forward to our next trip to Cochrane, where we will be sure to return to Mama Mia Italian Kitchen.
The best Italian I have tried in Cochrane and Calgary. We tried the Scampi Shrimp, Beef carpaccio and chef’s plate of the day. The service is 10/10 Iris served us and she was amazing.

Thanks to the stormy weather, the restaurant had a cozy corner table available just for us — it felt like our own private dining space. From the moment we sat down, we were warmly welcomed by Bestin Joseph, our incredible waiter for the evening. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. As a family that prides itself on cooking everything from scratch, we were genuinely delighted to learn that all the food at the restaurant is made in-house. And it truly showed — every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and clearly crafted with care. You can taste the quality and the love in every bite. This was more than just a dinner — it was a celebration made special by a fantastic atmosphere, exceptional service, and food that rivaled our own kitchen. We’ll absolutely be back!
We came all the way from Edmonton just to have a hearty meal at Mama Mia. Richa was a very delightful person and recommended great vegetarian options. She also suggested non alcoholic drinks aware of our long drive situation. She was very thoughtful of us. We also got a chance to appreciate chef Dhruv and he is a very pleasant person. After our meal we were also offered desserts and the Amarena (might have got the wrong spelling) cake is just exceptional. I was very full from the meal so they made a cute little to-go box for me. My husband tried the pista ice cream which he absolutely loved. The ambience is super exciting, raw and the music is pleasant. We 100% recommend anyone who loves good italian food to visit Mama Mia! THE GREATEST DINE IN ITALIAN RESTAURANT!
This was our first time at the restaurant as we were looking for a restaurant in Cochrane. I googled and found Mama Mia. We came during lunch time and i love the setup of the restaurant. Very spacious and love that there is a cafe side as well. Our waitress Iris was so sweet and helpful in her recommendations. We got the pesto gnocchi and shrimp scampi. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was delicious. I also love the complimentary bread. They also gave us a chocolate torte to celebrate our anniversary. We will definitely be back again.
Can't deny the food is top notch here. A kids pizza was big enough to feed an adult. Regular portions were very filling as well. Everything was tasty. The only downside is the dent it left in my wallet considering it was only lunch. I guess that's the world we live in now. Two adults and a child, triple digits, no booze. I shouldn't have ordered the extra salad. The food makes me want to go back, but...
